Latitude is seeking a highly experienced and strategic corporate transactions and real estate attorney to join the leadership team of a dynamic real estate and hospitality development client in Charlottesville, Virginia, as General Counsel. Qualified candidates must have 7 years of corporate, commercial and/or real estate law experience. This role offers a unique opportunity to roll up your sleeves and shape the legal team of this growing real estate development company.
The ideal candidate is expected to actively participate in the company’s day-to-day management, addressing legal matters efficiently and systematically, always with a focus on enabling the company’s efficient operation and growth. The ideal candidate also brings a strong general business perspective and familiarity with the company’s real estate industry segments to contribute to long-term strategic challenges and opportunities. Successful candidates will have the opportunity to build out the company’s legal department as the company continues to grow over the coming years.
This is a full-time, in-person role in Charlottesville, Virginia.
Requirements for the Real Estate Attorney:
Pay: The salary range for this position is competitive commensurate with the candidate’s experience, and includes a significant bonus and long-term incentives.
Pay is based on multiple factors including but not limited to work experience, qualifications, and credentials.

- 7 years of experience in corporate legal, regulatory, and real estate matters in-house or in a law firm
- Experience drafting, reviewing and negotiating various kinds of commercial contracts, including leases, licensing agreements, asset purchase agreements, structured financing agreements, etc.
- Understanding of federal and state laws and regulations applicable to real estate, timeshare, condominiums and HOAs is a plus
- Previous experience with ESOP Plan admin and corporate organizational structures preferred
- J.D. from an accredited law school
- Licensed and in good standing with the VA state bar or ability to waive in as in-house counsel
- Demonstrated analytical, collaborative, and managerial skills, with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
