What are the responsibilities and job description for the Part Time Vehicle Detailer position at LATS?

Job Description and Duties:
Principal duties include, but are not limited to the following:
1. After signing in for the workday the detailers will prepare the wash bay area. This will be accomplished by preparing two 5 gallon buckets with soapy water, preparing one mop bucket with a disinfectant cleaner or 1 part bleach to 10 part water, set-up disinfectant cleaner spray bottles, window cleaner, towels and fabric brush.
2. Will place the automatic bus wash in the on position and run for a period of (5) five minutes to soak down the fabric brushes.
3. Retrieve a bus from the parking area and proceed to the wash bay.
4. Using the cleaning supplies, wipe down all entry rails, steering wheel, dash and driver’s side panel using the white towels.
5. With a stiff brush, sweep all passenger seats including driver’s seat.
6. Inspect interior windows for smudges and clean if necessary, ensure the windshield is cleaned using non-static towels (Blue).
7. Sweep and mop the entire floor and remove any stuck gum or candy.
8. Using power washer with the soap solution, spray down the rear and wheels of bus completely.
9. Using the prepared buckets, brush all rims, windshield, and rear of bus.
10. Using the power washer with clear water rinse the soapy solution down and spray off the entry ramp.
11. Drive into the bus wash and stop at the sensor to allow the water pressure to build before proceeding through the wash.
12. Move at a very slow even pace through the wash, note there is an orange warning light. When you see this light flash, you well come to a stop and then move very slow forward into the rinse cycle.
13. Squeegee all windows, mirrors and door windows to include wiping out inside door window and ledges.
14. Move bus to it assigned parking area, ensuring the bus is in neutral and the park brake is set. During winter months, it is the responsibility of all detailers to plug the heaters on buses equipped with heaters. All Para units equipped with a main power switch at the bottom of the driver’s door will be turned off. Secure the passenger door this also informs others on shift this unit has been completed.
15. Repeat item 2 thru 13 until all buses are completed.
16. Prior to or after completing the route and Para Transit buses four or more of the staff vehicles will need to be washed.
17. At the end of shift, the wash bay will be sprayed down with the pressure washer, and all equipment will be placed in its stored area.
18. Return all keys to the key box.
19. The list of duties above, are not limited too and other duties can be assigned.
20. Vehicles will be inspected for cleanliness by a supervisor at random and the detailer will perform corrections at this time.
