Lattin’s Country Cider Mill & Farm is seeking an experienced, detail-oriented Apple Cider Press Production Operator to join our team in Olympia, WA.

The ideal candidate will oversee Lattin’s Country Cider Mill & Farm’s cider production operations from apple receiving and sorting to final product quality control and customer relations. This position combines hands-on production work with managerial responsibilities in a dynamic agricultural processing environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Production Operations
  • Operate and maintain cider press equipment to efficiently produce high-quality apple cider
  • Monitor production processes to ensure product meets quality specifications
  • Implement and maintain proper sanitation and food safety protocols and FDA guidelines/standards
  • Track production metrics and inventory levels
  • Apple Management
  • Receive and inspect incoming apple shipments from local orchards
  • Sort and identify different apple varieties by type and quality
  • Team Leadership
  • Troubleshoot production issues as they arise
  • Community Engagement
  • Lead educational tours of the cider press facility for school groups and visitors
  • Represent Lattin’s at local festivals and agricultural events

Qualifications

  • Required
  • Excellent communication skills with ability to engage effectively with children and adults
  • Physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for extended periods
  • Preferred
  • Food production experience
  • Strong understanding of food safety regulations and HACCP principles
  • Experience with production scheduling and inventory management
  • Demonstrated knowledge of apple varieties, quality characteristics, and seasonal availability
  • Valid Washington State Forklift Operator’s License

Work Environment

  • Seasonal fluctuations in work intensity, with peak activity during fall harvest season
  • Indoor/outdoor work environment with exposure to varying temperatures
  • Fast-paced production setting requiring attention to detail and time management
  • Mix of independent work and collaborative team projects

Compensation & Benefits

  • Competitive salary based on experience ($17.50 to $21.00 per hour)
  • Paid Sick Leave (up to 1 hour for every 40 paid hours per Washington State)
