This position requires a deep understanding of construction projects, strong interpersonal skills, and the ability to provide cost-effective solutions.
Responsibilities:
- Customer Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with new and existing customers. Understand their specific needs and offer tailored solutions to meet their project requirements.
- Estimation: Utilize your expertise to accurately estimate the quantity and type of lumber and building materials required for construction projects. Provide detailed quotes to customers in a timely manner.
- Product Knowledge: Stay current with the latest products and industry trends. Be able to recommend the best materials and products for various construction projects.
- Sales: Assist customers in making purchasing decisions. Explain the features and benefits of various products and provide pricing information. Close sales and ensure customer satisfaction.
- Order Processing: Efficiently process sales orders, ensuring accuracy and timely delivery of products to the customer's satisfaction.
- Collaboration: Work closely with the sales team, warehouse staff, and management to ensure seamless operations and meet sales targets.
- Market Research: Continuously monitor market conditions, competitor pricing, and industry trends to provide competitive pricing and stay ahead of the competition.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate records of customer interactions, estimates, and sales transactions.
- Proven experience in sales and estimating within the lumber or building materials industry.
- In-depth knowledge of lumber and building materials, including various wood species, sizes, and applications.
- Strong customer service skills and the ability to communicate effectively with diverse clientele.
- Proficiency in estimation software and tools.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Self-motivated and results-oriented with a strong work ethic.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- A valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
- A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
- Additional education or training related to construction or sales is a plus.
