We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Pediatric Dental Assistant to join our dynamic team. This position is for one day only with opportunities for more hours as we grow our business.
The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in supporting our practice, ensuring smooth operations while providing exceptional care to our patients. This position requires proficiency in various dental systems and a solid understanding of HIPAA regulations, especially in pediatrics and general dentistry settings.
Responsibilities
- Assist dental professionals during procedures, employing techniques to enhance efficiency and patient comfort.
- Maintain accurate patient records using Open Dental and Dental Intel and other relevant systems while ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments and ensuring all necessary supplies are readily available.
- Take and record vital signs as needed, providing essential information for patient assessments.
- Support the front office with scheduling appointments, managing patient flow, and addressing inquiries.
- Assist with medical coding for insurance claims and billing processes related to dental services.
- Foster a welcoming environment for patients, particularly in pediatric settings, to ease anxiety and promote positive experiences.
Skills
- Proficient in Dental Intel and Open Dental or similar dental practice management software.
- Strong understanding of HIPAA regulations and their application in a clinical setting.
- Experience in pediatrics, general dentistry, prosthodontics, or related fields is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of four-handed dentistry techniques to assist effectively during procedures.
- Ability to take vital signs accurately and efficiently.
- Familiarity with medical coding practices related to dental services is a plus.
- Excellent communication skills with a focus on patient interaction and team collaboration.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in maintaining patient records and office operations.
