Job Title: Manager of Bidding, Estimating, and Scheduling
Location: Marana, AZ / Tucson, AZ (as required)
Job Purpose:
The Manager of Bidding, Estimating, and Scheduling will oversee and manage the processes of bidding, estimating, and scheduling for the company’s projects. This role will ensure that all bids are prepared accurately, schedules are created and maintained efficiently, and estimating is conducted in a timely and effective manner. You will work closely with cross-functional teams, including Sales, Operations, and Project Managers, to ensure that all projects are appropriately estimated, scheduled, and aligned with business objectives.
What You Will Do:
- Bidding & Estimating:
Lead the development and preparation of accurate bids and estimates for various projects, ensuring all costs, resources, and timeframes are considered. Review RFPs and develop detailed cost proposals for projects.
- Scheduling Management:
Create and maintain project schedules for Marana and Tucson facilities, ensuring that timelines are realistic and achievable based on the available resources and requirements.
- Coordination with Stakeholders:
Work closely with department heads, Project Managers, and Operations teams to assess manpower and resource requirements, ensuring proper alignment with the production schedules.
- Cost Management:
Collaborate with the Finance and Operations teams to identify and manage project costs, ensuring alignment with budgets and financial objectives. Regularly track and report on project performance and financial metrics.
- Team Leadership:
Supervise and mentor the bidding, estimating, and scheduling teams. Foster an environment of continuous learning and development while ensuring that the department operates efficiently.
- Collaboration with Sales and Customers:
Participate in meetings with the Sales team and customers, helping to establish expectations and timelines. Build strong relationships with key stakeholders to ensure alignment of customer needs with internal capabilities.
- Process Improvement:
Continuously assess and improve the bidding, estimating, and scheduling processes to increase efficiency, accuracy, and customer satisfaction.
- Reporting and Analysis:
Provide regular reports on the status of bids, estimates, and project schedules. Conduct analyses to identify trends, potential risks, and opportunities for improvement.
- Compliance & Documentation:
Ensure compliance with all applicable regulations, company policies, and best practices in the bidding, estimating, and scheduling processes. Maintain proper documentation for reference and auditing purposes.
Marginal Job Functions:
- Assist with special projects and initiatives as required.
- Ensure all work is done in a safe manner and in compliance with safety protocols.
- Attend meetings and coordinate with other departments as necessary.
- Conduct training and provide support to the bidding, estimating, and scheduling teams.
What You Will Bring to the Table:
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Business, or a related field (or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience).
- 7 years of experience in bidding, estimating, and scheduling for projects, ideally in an aviation or manufacturing environment.
- Strong knowledge of estimating software and project management tools.
- Experience managing a team of professionals.

- Bidding & Estimating Expertise: Deep understanding of estimating techniques, cost structures, and project bidding processes.
- Scheduling Knowledge: Expertise in project scheduling and the ability to plan and manage multiple projects with varying timelines.
- Leadership & Management Skills: Proven ability to lead and mentor a team while ensuring projects are delivered on time and within budget.
- Strong Communication Skills: Ability to communicate effectively across all levels of the organization and with customers.
- Collaboration & Teamwork: Ability to collaborate with different teams, including Sales, Operations, and Project Managers.
- Attention to Detail: Strong attention to detail to ensure all aspects of bidding, estimating, and scheduling are accurate and aligned with project requirements.
- Problem-Solving Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, particularly when it comes to managing project risks and potential delays.
- Adaptability: Ability to adjust to rapidly changing circumstances, priorities, and project requirements.
- High School diploma or equivalent required.
- Valid driver’s license.
