Position: General Manager – Aircraft Maintenance Facility
Location: Millville, NJ (MIV)
Compensation: $185,000 - $200,000
We are seeking a talented and driven General Manager (GM) to lead the Millville, NJ (MIV) Aircraft Base Maintenance Location. As the GM, you will oversee the entire MIV team and collaborate with various business functions to ensure the success of operations. You will be responsible for driving operational excellence, implementing processes and systems, and leading a team of 140 employees to deliver high-quality maintenance services to our customers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Leadership & Team Management: Organize, direct, and lead the MIV team, ensuring alignment with company goals. Motivate and mentor key staff to deliver on the company’s strategic vision.
- Operational Excellence: Lead the organization in implementing operational initiatives, processes, metrics, and measurements to ensure aircraft are delivered on time, on budget, and defect-free.
- Continuous Improvement: Foster a culture of continuous improvement, defect reduction, and process discipline, ensuring that operational processes meet customer and business requirements.
- Customer Collaboration: Partner with customers and key business functions to ensure we meet customer requirements, deadlines, and quality standards.
- Process Development & Compliance: Develop work standards, policies, and processes, ensuring adherence by the workforce. Monitor conformance with specifications, procedures, schedules, and safety.
- Resource Management: Develop and manage strategic manpower, equipment, and tool requirements for the organization.
- Quality Control: Analyze root causes of issues and develop corrective actions for key quality metrics. Ensure compliance with FOD, Tool Control, and other key programs.
- Financial Oversight: Manage billable and unbillable hours, oversee timecards, expenses, and capital expenditures, and review cost performance.
- Interdepartmental Coordination: Ensure smooth coordination between customer planning, site maintenance, and internal teams.
- Performance Management: Perform annual reviews for technicians and related personnel, gathering input from Operations and Chief Inspectors.
- Safety & Compliance: Maintain a safe working environment by adhering to safety regulations and policies.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Leadership, Aircraft-related field, or equivalent experience.
- Licenses: FAA Airframe & Powerplant License (required).
- Experience: 10 years in Aircraft Maintenance with significant experience in managing world-class operations and organizations.
- Aircraft Knowledge: Experience with corporate aircraft models, particularly Cessna 680A and 560XLS, is a plus.
- Skills:Proven ability to build and lead high-performing teams.
- Strong financial management and analytical skills.
- Expertise in process development and continuous improvement methodologies (LEAN, Six Sigma, 5S preferred).
- Excellent communication skills with a strong attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience with project management software (e.g., MS Project, Corridor, Cost Accounting Management) and basic computer operations.
