Position Overview:
We are seeking a passionate and dynamic Virtual Teacher, Grades 7 - 12, to join our innovative online learning community. The ideal candidate will be committed to delivering high-quality, engaging instruction in a virtual setting while building meaningful relationships with students. This role requires creativity, adaptability, and a student-centered approach to ensure academic growth and success in an online environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver interactive, standards-aligned virtual lessons that engage and challenge high school students.
- Use technology and digital tools effectively to create an engaging online learning environment.
- Provide individualized support and feedback to students to promote their academic success.
- Foster a positive and inclusive virtual classroom culture where students feel valued and supported.
- Assess student learning through a variety of online assessment tools and adjust instruction accordingly.
- Communicate regularly with students, families, and support staff to ensure student success.
- Collaborate with colleagues and school leadership to enhance curriculum and instructional strategies.
- Understanding of and respect for Hawaiian culture, values, and traditions, with a willingness to integrate them into teaching and practice.
- Maintain accurate records of student progress, attendance, and participation.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Education or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
- Valid teaching certification in Hawaii or eligibility for reciprocity.
- Experience teaching high school students in a virtual or blended learning environment preferred.
- Strong proficiency with virtual learning platforms (e.g., Google Classroom, Canvas, Zoom, etc.).
- Excellent communication, organization, and technology skills.
- Ability to create an engaging and supportive online learning experience.
