Our challenge
We are seeking an experienced Oracle Database Administrator to manage and maintain our database systems. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of Oracle databases, performance tuning, backup and recovery, and security management. This role requires collaboration with development teams to ensure optimal database performance and availability.
The Role
Responsibilities:
· Install, configure, and upgrade Oracle database software and related products.
· Monitor database performance and implement changes to improve performance.
· Perform regular database backups and recovery operations.
· Implement and maintain database security policies and procedures.
· Troubleshoot database issues and provide timely resolutions.
· Design and implement database schemas, tables, and indexes.
· Develop and maintain database documentation, including models, schema designs, and operational procedures.
· Collaborate with application developers to ensure database optimization and efficient query performance.
· Perform capacity planning and ensure database scalability.
· Stay updated on Oracle product releases and patches, and apply them as necessary.
Requirements:
You are:
· Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
· Proven experience as an Oracle DBA (typically 3 years).
· Strong knowledge of Oracle database architecture and administration.
· Experience with Oracle RAC, Data Guard, and SQL tuning.
· Familiarity with backup and recovery strategies using RMAN.
· Understanding of database security best practices.
· Proficiency in SQL and PL/SQL.
· Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
· Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
Preferred Qualifications:
· Oracle Certified Professional (OCP) certification.
· Experience with cloud-based database solutions (e.g., Oracle Cloud).
· Knowledge of Linux/Unix operating systems.
· Familiarity with database monitoring tools.
