Salary Range: $90,000-$110,000

Start Date: We are looking to fill this role as soon as possible, ideally by April 1st, to allow for side-by-side onboarding before the next school year. If hired later, onboarding will take place in June/July.

Instructional Leadership (40%)
- Manage, coach, and develop Deans of Instruction to drive teacher effectiveness and student growth.
- Oversee the use of data-driven instruction, ensuring alignment with state standards and rigorous academic expectations.
- Lead curriculum implementation and professional development, supporting teachers in planning, execution, and continuous improvement.
- Maintain high visibility in classrooms, providing real-time coaching and ensuring instructional excellence.
- Recruit, hire, and retain mission-aligned, high-performing school staff.
- Develop organizational goals and systems that support long-term school sustainability.
- Ensure ongoing leadership pipeline development, cultivating Deans and APs for future school leadership roles.
- Monitor school-wide and staff performance, ensuring alignment with Laureate’s mission and academic priorities.
- Foster a firm, fair, and no-nonsense school culture, ensuring student discipline systems align with high expectations and support student success.
- Serve as a connector between teachers, students, families, and the broader community to strengthen engagement and shared ownership of student outcomes.
- Model and champion diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging, ensuring a welcoming and high-accountability environment.
- Collaborate with external operations and HR supports to ensure strong hiring, recruitment, and compliance structures.
- Oversee school-wide logistics without direct management of operational details (e.g., bus contracts, facilities).
- Partner with the Board and CEO to drive strategic initiatives that position Laureate Academy for long-term success.

- Proven Instructional Leadership: A track record of student growth over time, with deep expertise in data-driven decision-making and high-impact instructional coaching.
- Strategic & Results-Oriented: Can quickly assess challenges, execute solutions, and drive measurable progress across all areas of the school.
- Culture Builder: Leads with firm yet fair leadership, creating a structured, supportive environment where students feel valued, held accountable, and set up for success.
- Talent Developer: Coaches and builds strong leadership teams, ensuring high retention and development of Deans and teachers.
- High-Autonomy Experience: Has led in a proven high-autonomy, high-accountability school model (e.g., KIPP, Achievement First, YES Prep, IDEA, or similar networks).
- Mission-Aligned & Community-Focused: Deeply committed to educational equity and understands the unique needs of students and families in Louisiana and the South.
- 3-4 years of experience as a Principal OR 1-3 years as an AP with at least 2 years as a Principal.
- Experience leading instructional teams and driving student growth in a K-8 environment.
- Experience in high-autonomy school models in high-growth environments.
- Deep knowledge of curriculum, instructional strategies, and state assessments (LEAP, state testing, etc.).
- Proven ability to cultivate strong relationships with students, families, and staff.
- Familiarity with school choice environments (charter, turnaround, or alternative models).
- Master’s degree preferred but not required.
- Valid Louisiana teaching license (or ability to obtain before the start of the school year).
