What are the responsibilities and job description for the Admissions Nurse position at Laurel Hill Nursing Center?
Admissions/Floor NurseFull-Time/Part-TimeRN Preferred! - New Clinical Leadership -
As admissions coordinator, you manage admissions, as well as supervising the team of nurses and caregivers.
You will:
- Complete admissions and discharges.
- Supervise nurses and CNAs and ensure adequate staffing for their and oncoming shifts. Coordination of last-minute staff shortages.
- Monitor residents' condition and assess their needs to provide the best care and advice.
- Observe and interpret patient's symptoms and communicate them to physicians.
- Collaborate with physicians and nurses to devise individualized care plans for residents.
- Perform routine nursing duties, adjust and administer residents' medications and provide treatments according to physicians' orders.
- Conduct daily audits of all new admission charts. Investigate all incident reports and follow up.
- Participate in managing staff and assignments to ensure quality of care. Train new nurses.
- Additional duties as needed.
You Have:
- Possess Nursing License within state, in good standing.
- Two years of skilled nursing experience required
- Work independently, problem solve, and manage conflict.
- Know resident rights. Help residents/patients exercise and protect their rights.
- Maintain confidentiality of resident/patient information.
- Follow and adheres to policies and procedures implementing HIPAA requirements for the privacy and security of protected health information.
