Description of Position:
The Administrator is fully responsible for community operations and quality of care. Financial stability of the community, staffing practices and day to day operations are coordinated by the Administrator to fall within the operational guidelines of governmental agencies. The Administrator structures the environment which will produce the highest standards of non-medical care.
The Administrator provides direct supervision of department heads and works with the community to ensure a positive choice for seniors in the area. Coordinates all departments to promote outstanding community operations in alignment with goals, budget guidelines, and resident needs. Supervises operations to conform to regulatory guidelines.
Responsibilities of the Administrator:
1. Identify and develop community standards of care congruent with the population seeking placement.
2. Project and develop a sound operating budget for the community. Approve or deny expenditures based on the allocations set by the Authorized Representative and/or Board of Directors.
3. Standardize operations of each department. Supervise all department heads to ensure community is operating according to standards and in compliance with regulatory guidelines.
4. Maintain the community in compliance with all regulatory agencies. Adhere to all Homes for the Aged Guidelines, as well as all other state and federal regulatory and licensing standards. Stay current on new regulations and standards.
5. Develop sound policies and procedures for resident care. Approve all admissions. Work within the community to place residents in need of a higher level of care. Coordinate move-ins with other department heads.
6. Utilize a system of sound management which monitors quality standards on an ongoing basis in all departments. Hire new staff and/or terminating of unsatisfactory staff.
7. Assume full responsibility all regulatory guidelines forms and documentation for residents and employees and ensure that administrative operation is up to date and complete at all times. Secure all admission paperwork prior to move-in.
8. Investigate complaints, document and review with Authorized Representative.
9. Develop and carry out a successful marketing program which maintains > 95% occupancy. Market the community to prospective placements. Schedule and plan all community outreach projects.
10. Investigate theft/loss in the community.
11. Carry out the operating policies of the Authorized Representative and/or Board of Directors.
12. Organize monthly resident and family council meetings as well as family conferences as needed.
