Laurel Parc, a beautiful senior living community just north of the Beaverton/Hillsboro area seeks an effective Wellness Coordinator to help oversee our state-of-the-art Wellness Center and related activities for our residents. This energetic and motivated team member will lead exercise classes, personal trainings and perform initial consultations for our community while conducting exercise evaluations for individual and group exercise programs. This individual will also be a supervisor to our Activities Assistants.
Schedule: Tuesday - Saturday 8:00am - 4:30pm
Pay: $25.00-25.50 per hour
Shift: Full-time
Main Responsibilities:
- Identifies residents who may benefit from fitness programs and encourage participation.
- Assists residents through the process of actively working toward better health by providing support, encouragement, and education in the areas of fitness, weight management, stress reduction, health and risk management and reducing barriers to reaching fitness goals.
- Assess the client's readiness to change, develop a Wellness Vision Plan, set goals, help client identify obstacles and develop strategies to overcome obstacles.
- Provides monthly progress reports to the Director of Residents Experiences relative to the percent participation of each client group in fitness programs and one-on-one personal training.
- Leads exercise classes and maintains personal training program for participating residents.
- Assists with screening and establishes baselines for residents.
- Works closely with therapy contractors in assisting and/or setting up individual fitness programs for residents transitioning out of Physical Therapy. Identifies residents that could benefit from Physical Therapy.
- Maintains and cleans exercise equipment in accordance with policy and reports any concerns to the DRE.
- Maintains adequate supplies.
- Contributes to newsletters and publications when appropriate.
Qualifications
Language Requirement
All team members must have the basic ability to use computer/smart phone applications for training and company system purposes. Employees must also be able to comprehend written documents such as work orders, safety rules, instructions, policies, and procedures. Also required is the ability of employees to speak and communicate effectively with clients, coworkers and management.
