What are the responsibilities and job description for the Activity Assistant - Memory Care position at Laurel Parc at Bethany Village?
Laurel Parc, a beautiful senior living community just north of the Beaverton/Hillsboro area seeks an energetic and upbeat Activities Assistant in our Memory Care Department to provide our residents with daily activities and planned outings. This person will help with promoting activities to inspire physical and mental stimulation as well as cognitive, spiritual, and social experiences for our residents.
Schedule: Saturday & Sunday
This is a Part Time position.
Main Responsibilities:
- Promotes activities and events that are taking place by walking around the facility and discussing with residents.
- Makes residents feel welcome and comfortable during all activities or events by greeting and acknowledging them.
- Maintains punctual, regular and predictable attendance.
- Works collaboratively in a team environment with a spirit of cooperation.
- Displays excellent communication including the ability to communicate effectively and remain calm and courteous under pressure.
- Respectfully takes direction from the Memory Care Director and Memory Care Activity Coordinator.
Qualifications
- Experience with activities planning preferred but not required
- Experience with seniors preferred
- Experience with Dementia Patients
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Outstanding customer service
All team members must have the basic ability to use computer/smart phone applications for training and company system purposes. Employees must also be able to comprehend written documents such as work orders, safety rules, instructions, policies, and procedures. Also required is the ability of employees to speak and communicate effectively with clients, coworkers and management.
