What are the responsibilities and job description for the HEAD COOK position at Laurel Ridge Camp Conference and Retreat Center?
Ordering food and supplies for the kitchen
Collaborating with vendors to ensure timely delivery of ingredients
Creating and updating inventory lists
Assisting in menu planning and development
Training and supervising kitchen staff
Work closely with Guests services and program Manager to develop menus that cater to the dietary needs and preferences of guests. All means are buffet style.
Cook from scratch as much as possible to provide high-quality and fresh meals for guests
Oversee part time cooks to ensure consistency in food preparation and presentation
This job will require nights and weekends depending on the schedule of guests and events
We are a summer camp and conference center, providing a unique and dynamic work environment
We run two kitchens in the summer to accommodate the needs of our guests and staff
Ideal Candidate :
- Previous experience in a similar role, preferably in a hospitality or food service setting
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work well under pressure and in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Passion for creating delicious and nutritious meals
