Job Description:
Laurel Ridge Community College is seeking qualified applicants to fill this part time position within the Emergency Medical Services department within Health Professions. Qualified candidates will possess excellent computer skills, demonstrate evidence of flexible work experiences and a willingness to change; be open-minded, fair, and possess the ability to see multiple perspectives; be willing to take and manage risks and accept responsibility for professional and personal growth.
Duties:
- Provide general classroom and clinical lab instruction both online and in a traditional setting.
- Teach face-to-face classes to include days, evenings, and weekends both on and off campus.
- Incorporate latest instructional technologies and interactive learning technologies in course delivery.
- Assist in program recruitment.
- Advise students who are in the program or aspire to be in the program.
- Monitor and improve student retention.
- Maintain class records, input grades and attendance
- Provide quality customer service to students, faculty, and staff.
- Continually develop and improve skills through professional development.
- Participate in faculty committees and other activities, as assigned.

Compensation and Benefits:
Adjunct/Continuing Education Faculty: The rate per credit hour will commensurate with education and relevant or teaching experience. The position is part time and as such is not eligible for health or leave benefits. However, the position may offer educational benefits through our professional development and educational assistance policies. National Registry Paramedic Certification Licensure.
Demonstrated experience as a paramedic.
Effective communication, both oral and written, skills necessary.
Must have expert efficiency in Microsoft Office (Access, Excel, PowerPoint, and Word).
AMLS, EPC, PHTLS (National Association of EMS Instructor).
Demonstrated experience teaching EMS for a community college or four-year college.
Online teaching experience.
