The ideal candidate will possess the following skills and attributes:
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field, preferably communications, journalism, political science, or public/international affairs
- Previous office experience (preferred) and a high level of professionalism
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- High proficiency in research
- Strong experience using social media platforms in a professional atmosphere a plus
- Proactive and intellectually curious
- Can adapt quickly to new situations and is internally motivated
- Total discretion and ability to maintain confidentiality
- Team orientation and enthusiasm
- Excellent judgment and common sense
- Ability to solve problems creatively
- Flexibility with an understanding that work is often not confined to traditional 9a-5p hours
Job Functions and Responsibilities:
- Contribute and build upon Laurel’s existing insights and create and develop comprehensive research on global market trends in a range of sectors – from financial services to space-tech to biotech to software, and much more.
- Analyse market trends and insights, including stakeholder mapping that allows clients to understand competitors and business opportunities in their sector.
- Assist in creating comprehensive briefings and background memos for meetings and engagements for an executive-level audience.
- Research and write opinion pieces and blog posts, recommending compelling angles for thought leadership, media, speeches, events, and other vehicles to advance client goals
- Track media and conduct research for clients related to geopolitical issues, market assessments, and business intelligence. Monitor media for a diverse global clientele, including daily briefings of key news developments.
- Maintain deadlines while delivering outstanding results
- Work with a team to deliver critical support
- Other projects and tasks as assigned based on interest and need
