What are the responsibilities and job description for the Life Enrichment Assistant position at Laurelhurst House Assisted Living?
JOB DESCRIPTION:
- Ability to follow Life Enrichment Coordinator’s (LED) schedules and calendars according to the plans set in place
- Ability to develop a thorough knowledge of all Life Enrichment resident plans and social histories
- Willingness to learn how to positively engage with people who have mental health diagnoses. (Specific Needs)
- Ability to work with residents, intervene and redirect as needed
- Communicate regularly with Life Enrichment Director including needs and concerns about residents.
- Completes required documentation thoroughly, accurately, and in a timely manner
- Completes daily duties and non-scheduled duties as time permits
- Ability to be flexible and “think on your feet” when plans change
- Assists LED in communicating about activities and events, ongoing promotion of events, gathering of supplies, and whatever is necessary for the day.
- Engages with residents in one-on-one visits between organized activities
- Works as part of the team; organizing time and prioritizing requests with a professional attitude to achieve optimum resident care and interaction
- Reports to work on time, and maintains a professional appearance in compliance with employee handbook
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Previous experience with seniors and/or Specific Needs residents is helpful
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Valid Driver’s License (preferred but not required)
- Weekend availability
- Able to pass a Criminal Background Check

Pay: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour
Expected hours: No more than 20 per week
