This role focuses on providing strategic direction and driving continuous improvement of Proliant's quality and food safety management systems. A key priority is aligning U.S. and New Zealand manufacturing processes under a single Quality Management System. Additionally, the role collaborates with the Regulatory Specialist to ensure compliance and expand global market access for PHB's diagnostic, nutrition, and therapeutic products.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS :

Education : Bachelor of Science degree in Food Science, Chemistry, Biochemistry or Chemical / Biochemical Engineering and / or equivalent experience in Nutraceutical or Pharmaceutical quality assurance (QA) required.

Experience :

  • 5 years of experience within food ingredient manufacturing, food safety, quality assurance. Experience in animal vaccine production, bulk ingredient or dietary supplement manufacturing, medical device; nutraceutical or pharmaceutical highly preferred.
  • Proven skills related to quality assurance or regulatory affairs in a manufacturing and corporate environment, including development / improvement of quality systems and education / training of employees required.

Preferred Qualifications :

  • Experience with global export markets highly preferred.
  • KEY RESPONSIBILITIES :

  • Implement and manage quality assurance activities and strategies.
  • Develop and oversee product safety and quality programs to meet / exceed customer and regulatory standards (USDA, FDA, MPI).
  • Analyze and communicate critical quality data to drive continuous improvement and efficiency.
  • Address food safety and quality concerns with corporate and plant teams.
  • Manage the Quality Management System (QMS) for compliance.
  • Collaborate with the Regulatory Specialist to ensure compliance with FDA, USDA, and MPI regulations.
  • Monitor domestic and international quality standards to identify risks and opportunities.
  • Educate stakeholders on quality decisions and lead ESG program initiatives.
  • Support supplier quality processes and coordinate with LGI shared services.
  • Prepare and present internal / external reports and represent the company during audits.
  • Build and maintain relationships with co-manufacturers, suppliers, and quality teams across LGI.
  • Provide tactical support to quality teams as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by Senior Leadership.
  • SKILLS AND REQUIREMENTS :

  • Expertise in cGMP and ISO : 9001 standards.
  • Proficiency in food ingredient and dietary supplement safety principles.
  • Strong attention to detail, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks / projects and maintain confidentiality.
  • Capable of working independently and in a team environment.
  • Skilled in technical analysis and presenting complex information.
  • Familiarity with LGI's process and product testing procedures.
  • Flexible for domestic / international travel and extended hours.
