The Position: Entry-Level Diesel Technician
We’re looking for an entry-level Diesel Technician to join our maintenance team in Mount Vernon. This role is ideal for someone who’s eager to learn and ready to roll up their sleeves. You’ll work closely with experienced techs and receive hands-on training to help build your skills.
What You’ll Do:
- Assist with inspections and diagnostic tests on trucks, trailers, and heavy equipment
- Perform basic repairs (alone or with assistance)
- Maintain accurate service and repair records
- Keep your work area clean, organized, and safe
- Take ownership of your tasks and be open to learning new things
- Follow all safety protocols and company policies
- Be present and on time for your scheduled shifts
- Pitch in with other general shop duties as needed
What We’re Looking For:
Must-Haves:
- High school diploma or equivalent (preferred)
- Valid driver’s license and insurability (CDL not required)
- Basic computer skills
- Willingness to learn and grow in your role
- Strong work ethic and safety mindset
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Excellent communication skills (verbal and written)
- Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and work in/around heavy equipment in all weather
Nice-to-Haves:
- Mechanical aptitude and familiarity with tools and equipment
- Prior experience in a shop or mechanical setting is a plus, but not required

The Location:
We’re based in Mount Vernon, WA—just north of Highway 20 in beautiful Skagit Valley. Our site is a busy, fully operational construction and demolition recycling center, which means you’ll be working in a fast-paced environment with regular equipment traffic, noise, and dust.
Salary : $20 - $23
