Job Description
Purpose and Scope:
The Outbound Lead is responsible for overseeing all aspects of outbound operations within a warehouse or distribution center. This role plays a pivotal role in ensuring the The Picker Packer plays a crucial role in the warehouse or distribution center by accurately picking, packing, and preparing orders for shipment. This position ensures the timely and efficient fulfillment of customer orders while maintaining high standards of quality and accuracy. and timely shipment of goods to customers while maintaining compliance with company policies, procedures, and quality standards.
Responsibilities:
- Utilize order lists or pick tickets to locate and retrieve items from designated locations within the warehouse.
- Ensure accuracy in picking by matching items to the order list and verifying product codes, quantities, and descriptions.
- Operate material handling equipment, such as hand trucks or pallet jacks, to transport items to the packing area.
- Package items according to order specifications, ensuring proper wrapping, cushioning, and sealing to prevent damage during transit.
- Select appropriate packaging materials and containers based on the size, weight, and fragility of the items.
- Label packages with shipping information, including recipient address, shipping method, and tracking numbers.
- Inspect items for defects, damage, or discrepancies before packing to ensure only high-quality products are shipped to customers.
- Report any quality issues or concerns to supervisors for resolution.
- Follow established quality control procedures and standards to maintain customer satisfaction.
- Maintain accurate records of inventory levels and locations.
- Communicate with inventory control teams to report stock shortages, overages, or discrepancies.
- Assist in periodic inventory counts and audits to reconcile inventory discrepancies and ensure accuracy.
- Adhere to safety guidelines and procedures to ensure a safe working environment.
- Operate equipment and machinery safely, following proper operating procedures and wearing appropriate personal protective equipment.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization in work areas to prevent accidents and ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.

Skills / Qualifications:
- Ability to read and interpret order lists, pick tickets, and shipping labels.
- Basic math skills for counting, sorting, and verifying quantities.

- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Physical stamina and ability to lift and move heavy objects.
Job Competency / Qualifications
Education/ Training:
- High school diploma, GED or equivalent is required.
Technical Requirements:
- Ability to lift and carry packages weighing up to [insert weight] pounds.
- Comfortable standing, walking, bending, and reaching for extended periods.
- Ability to operate material handling equipment, such as hand trucks or pallet jacks.
Experience:
- 1 – 3 years of professional experience working in logistics, warehouse, transportation operations or fulfillment center or in similar role required
