At Lavazza North America, the Commercial Lawyer will be part of the US Legal team, which advises on all legal aspects of the Lavazza Group’s fast-growing operations in North America. This role will provide legal advice for tasks including contracts, compliance, best practices and policies, corporate governance, marketing, brand protection, procurement, manufacturing, supply, R&D, and litigation..

Job Responsibilities
- Reviewing, structuring, drafting, and negotiating commercial contracts.
- Supporting the business in evaluating and structuring commercial and strategic initiatives.
- Assisting with the identification and management of legal risks for Lavazza in North America, consolidating legal awareness of the business functions.
- Supporting Marketing activity, including reviewing marketing content and claims.
- Analyzing and summarizing complicated legal documents, including contracts.
- Managing external counsels and liaising with the HQ Legal Department.
- Negotiating with outside parties on contractual issues and legal disputes, including settlements.
- Supporting the development of organization's policies on industry-specific issues, corporate governance, employment, brand protection, marketing, manufacturing, new-product launch, or regulatory affairs.
- Researching and analyzing laws, regulations, and best practices on complex issues and preparing memos and presentations for the GC or business partners.
- Supporting the development of strategies to anticipate and mitigate potential legal problems within the organization and develop strategies to avoid costly litigation and reduce potential areas of risk.
- Preparing and rolling out business-teams training with in-house and or external resources.
- Supporting M&A activity, including pre-M&A due diligence and post-M&A integration.
- 3 years of working experience in a law firm or in-house counsel in the FMCG industry.
- State Bar License (PA), required.
- Multistate Professional Responsibility Examination (MPRE), preferred.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills; comfortable presenting (virtually and in-person) to Executive Leadership and cross functional leadership/peers.
- Hybrid Work: 3 days in office, 2 days’ work from home, weekly.
- Occasional travel required to NYC office and to Global HQ (Turin, Italy).
