LaVigne Home Mission Statement:
Providing compassionate end-of-life care to those in physical or financial need, regardless of ability to pay.
Position: Operations Supervisor
Reports To: Board President to ensure guests receive care as per the plan agreed upon.
Hours: Full time, 40 hours per week; 12-20 hours of caregiving each week
Special Conditions: Flexible scheduling for guest caregiving, including evenings, weekends, holidays.
Duties
· Engages in the recruitment and selection process for new personnel.
· Actively recruit new volunteers.
· Schedules and coordinates training caregivers and volunteer training.
· Provides hands-on, in-home training after classroom instruction.
· Reviews and tracks volunteer hours; including a monthly report to the Operations Committee and AmeriCorps.
· Creates and manages the monthly staff schedules and adjusts as needed. Develop a coordinated process to handle call offs.
· Coordinates and manages guest admissions, including communication of expectations to families.
· Coordinate meal prep and identify grocery needs.
· Addresses any issues or concerns with the guest’s plan of care or hospice agencies.
· Provides oversight of cleaning schedule and delegate tasks to staff.
· Monitors inventory and organization of supplies in rooms and storage areas.
· Prepare a weekly Caregiver Connection Memo to inform all staff members about the current issues.
· Conducts quarterly staff meeting with updates and education topics.
· Record and report on staff compliance issues including incident reports to the Operations Committee.
· Audit medication records including controlled substance counts, and documentation variances to the Operations Committee.
· Attend operations meetings and report issues related to staff, maintenance, guests, or families.
· Conduct performance assessment of caregivers.
· Assist with updating policies and procedures.
· Other duties as directed by the Board of Directors.
QUALIFICATIONS
· Understand non-profit status and goals of LaVigne Home Operations
· Pass criminal background check and drug screen.
· Attendance reliability.
· Knowledge of medications used in the care of individuals at the end of life
· Previous experience with overseeing and managing others.
· Experience in providing direct care to individuals.
· Skilled in fostering team collaboration.
· Proficient computer and office skills
· Compassion for terminally ill guests and their families.
· Knowledgeable in hospice care and basic caregiving.
· Capability to address the requirements of guests and families, attending to their physical, emotional, and spiritual needs.
· Collaborative spirit and positive presence.
· Strong written and verbal communication skills.
· Understanding and adherence to HIPPA regulations.
· Commitment to continuous learning with an emphasis on end-of-life symptoms
management; pain management; spirituality of end-of-life care, and non-profit
management.
