Environmental and Land Use - Associate Attorney (3-6 years) December 2025

Adams Broadwell Joseph & Cardozo is accepting applications for an Associate Attorney to practice Environmental and Land Use Law in Northern California.The position is open for attorneys with 3-6 years of substantive experience practicing environmental law in California. The ideal candidate will also have experience practicing land use law. The position is hybrid remote in either our South San Francisco or Sacramento office.Required qualifications include :

• Ability and willingness to travel as needed, including for case work, educational seminars, hearing appearances and meetings with clients.The target annual pay range for this role in Northern California is $135,000 to 155,000. Actual pay will vary depending upon various factors, including relevant experience, skill-set, current business needs and market factors. The compensation range listed is just one component of Adams Broadwell Joseph & Cardozo’s package for employees.Responsibilities : Associate attorneys perform a range of work, in collaboration with supervising attorneys and professional staff, to investigate, develop, and enforce the full scope of legal and regulatory issues associated with the permitting and approval of large scale industrial, electric utility, residential and commercial projects. This includes factual investigation, legal research, case development, record review, working with scientists, legal analysis and writing, oral advocacy and motion practice and brief writing.Associate attorneys represent clients before federal and state administrative and regulatory agencies, before municipalities and other local governmental agencies, in settlement negotiations, and in court.
