We are seeking a detail-oriented and compassionate Legal Assistant to play a key role in assisting attorneys and paralegals with filing probate and trust administration documents with the court, proofreading legal documents, and meeting with trust administration and probate clients to review their documents with them and obtain their signatures. What You’ll Do:
• Prepare Court Filings – Print documents to be filed with the Court and prepare the filings, including conformed copies and placing the order with the courier (Arizona Courts do not accept electronic filings for probates).
• Legal Document Review – Assist attorneys and paralegals by proofreading probate and trust administration documents.
• Draft Legal Documents – Assist attorneys and paralegals by drafting basic legal documents.
• Probate and Trust Administration – Meet with clients to review documents with them and obtain their signature before filing with the Court.
• Client & Court Communication – Work closely with attorneys, paralegals, and courts to ensure proper filings for estate administration. Drafting and typing correspondence with clients, handling telephone calls with clients to obtain information or relay information for paralegals and attorneys.
• Maintain calendar and case file—Maintain organized files and records for client cases and work closely with attorneys and paralegals to ensure all applicable case deadlines are calendared or tasked appropriately.
What We’re Looking For:
• 2 years of law office experience, court filing experience and probate knowledge preferred.
• Proficiency in MS Office (Word & Excel).
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Excellent communication (written & verbal).
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
• High school diploma required; college education preferred.
Compensation & Benefits:
• Signing bonus $3,000
• Salary: $50,000 - $60,000/year (DOE)
