Job Overview

Seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Paralegal for a solo attorney who specializes in juvenile (criminal) and family law. This role requires excellent organizational skills, the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously, and a commitment to providing exceptional legal support. As a Paralegal, you will play a crucial role in assisting the attorney with case preparation and ensuring that all legal documentation is accurate and timely. The Law Office is located in downtown Springfield. Free parking at MGM casino. Looking for someone to work 9am-1pm every Monday through Friday but specific hours are flexible.

Duties

  • Conduct legal research to support case preparation and strategy development.
  • Draft legal documents such as pleadings and motions.
  • Assist in the preparation of cases for litigation by organizing case files and evidence.
  • Transcribe legal documents and correspondence as required.
  • Manage client communications and maintain accurate records of interactions.
  • Perform data entry tasks to ensure all information is up-to-date in the case management system.
  • Provide executive administrative support to the attorney, including scheduling meetings and managing calendars.
  • Collaborate with clients to gather necessary information for cases.

Qualifications

  • Must have paralegal certificate/degree or have completed at least one year of law school.
  • Familiarity with family law and criminal law (juvenile) related fields is a plus.
  • Strong skills in legal drafting and document preparation.
  • Excellent attention to detail with strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to transcribe accurately and efficiently.
  • Proficient in data entry with a focus on accuracy.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively with the attorney.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $25.00 per hour

Expected hours: 20 per week

Schedule:

  • 4 hour shift
  • Monday to Friday
