We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Personal Injury Litigation Paralegal to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of personal injury law and a passion for helping clients.
Responsibilities:
- Case Management:
- Open and close client files
- Maintain accurate and organized case files, both physical and electronic
- Track deadlines, court dates, and other important case milestones
- Prepare and file pleadings, motions, and other legal documents
- Conduct legal research and prepare legal memoranda
- Assist with discovery requests, responses, and production
- Prepare for depositions, hearings, and trials
- Client Communication:
- Interview clients to gather information about their injuries, damages, and the accident
- Maintain regular communication with clients, providing updates on case progress
- Respond to client inquiries and concerns in a timely and professional manner
- Medical Records and Billing:
- Request and review medical records, bills, and other relevant documents
- Calculate damages and prepare demand letters
- Assist with the preparation of settlement agreements
- Trial Preparation:
- Assist with witness preparation and coordination
- Prepare trial exhibits and organize trial notebooks
- Assist with trial logistics, such as scheduling court appearances and arranging travel
Qualifications:
- Bilingual in English and Spanish
- Paralegal certificate or equivalent experience
- Strong understanding of personal injury law and procedures
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Proficiency in legal research and writing
- Proficiency in legal software, such as case management and document management systems
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong work ethic and a positive attitude
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in personal injury litigation
- Knowledge of medical terminology
- Experience with insurance claims and subrogation
