Responsibilities and Duties

  • Prepare / revise correspondence, pleadings, corporate & real estate documents and other clerical assignments.
  • Handle confidential and time-sensitive material. Run conflict checks and open new client engagements as requested.
  • Maintain calendars, CLE, reports and time records. Maintain docketing for attorneys.
  • E-Filing , copying, faxing, scanning, binding and presentation preparation.
  • Handle various office and client filing; proofreading documents. Perform other administrative duties as assigned.
  • Answer phones and communicates with clients and courts on a daily basis.

Qualifications and Skills

Proficient in Microsoft Office / SuiteWord, Outlook, Excel and Adobe -Between 2 and 5 years recent secretarial experience (litigation, commercial, real estate) within a law firm.

  • Typing 60 wpm. Familiarity with state and federal rules and procedures a plus, along with law firm billing software.
  • Must have a solid understanding of technical legal terminology as well as court filings.
  • Experienced with trial preparation and briefs.
  • Punctual with excellent attendance.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, as well as excellent proofreading skills.
  • Ability to multi-task, and timely respond to deadlines as well as balance workload.
  • Strong organizational skills, professional demeanor, professional attire.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required. 4 year college degree preferred.
  • Notary a Plus. Bilingual a Plus.
