The Law Offices of Daniel D. Skuret, P.C. is seeking a Full Time Legal Assistant and/or Paralegal with prior work experience in Civil Litigation and Connecticut Workers' Compensation Claims. The in-person role is for an immediate opening at our expanding law firm located in Ansonia, Connecticut.
Our firm’s practice is statewide; however, the majority of cases are before the Milford, Waterbury, Bridgeport, and New Haven Superior Courts and Workers' Compensation Districts. Our practice areas include, but are not limited to, Personal Injury, Workers’ Compensation, Medical Malpractice, Insurance Malpractice, Social Security Disability, and Criminal Defense. Our firm also handles other forms of civil and criminal litigation as well as general practice areas.
A qualified candidate for the Full Time Legal Assistant and/or Paralegal role possesses the following qualities/skillsets/experiences:
• At least one (1) year of prior work experience with Civil Litigation and/or Connecticut Workers' Compensation Claims;
• Be a Team Player;
• Be able to work independently;
• Attention to detail;
• Organizational skills;
• Time management;
• Ability to prioritize multiple tasks;
• Excellent phone and communication skills;
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word;
• Proficiency in Adobe Acrobat;
• Familiarity with litigation management software and eagerness to learn and become proficient in new computer software programs; and,
• Electronic document management a plus.
Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Calendaring, file management, scanning documents, e-filing, answering phones, communicating with clients and other third parties, processing incoming and outgoing emails / mail / faxes, opening files, obtaining medical reports, preparing legal documents, dictation, research, investigation and other duties as assigned.
