Job Summary
This position will be ready for candidates to begin work at the end of June! We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Legal Assistant to join our dynamic legal team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in supporting attorneys with various tasks related to case management, legal research, and documentation. This position requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and a solid understanding of various areas of law, including law and family law. The ideal candidate will be reliable, trustworthy, and consistent in their work attendance and performance. Attention to detail is a MUST. We are looking for someone who can take initiative, listen, and be open to constructive feedback, as well as someone who understands their limitations and knows when to ask for help.
Duties
- Assist attorneys in the preparation and drafting of legal documents, including contracts and pleadings.
- Conduct thorough legal research using resources such as Westlaw to support case strategies.
- Manage case files and maintain organized records for easy access and retrieval.
- Perform data entry tasks with accuracy to ensure all information is up-to-date.
- Communicate effectively with clients, witnesses, and other parties involved in legal proceedings.
- Schedule appointments, meetings, and court dates while managing the attorney's calendar.
- Prepare trial binders and assist in trial preparation as needed.
- Stay informed about changes in laws and regulations relevant to the firm’s practice areas.
Experience
- Previous experience as a Legal Assistant/Paralegal or in a similar role is preferred but not required.
- Familiarity with legal terminology and procedures is essential.
- Proficiency in legal drafting and document management is highly desirable.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills are necessary for effective client interaction.
- Experience or knowledge in law and family law is a plus.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a collaborative team environment.

Pay: $24.50 - $26.50 per hour
