What are the responsibilities and job description for the Litigation Associate Attorney position at Law Offices of Frederick K. Brewington?
We are seeking a skilled Litigation Attorney to join our legal team. The Litigation Associate position in high profile, fast moving, general practice with concentration on Federal Civil Rights, Employment Discrimination, 42 U.S.C. 1983, Criminal Defense and Personal Injury.
Attorney should have a solid understanding of the Federal Rules of Civil Procedure, Federal Rules of Evidence, Civil Procedure Law and Rules, Criminal Law, Criminal Procedure Law, and the 'Houstonian' concept of lawyering as it relates to Civil Rights work.
Attorney should have experience and ability with engagement with clients, and in Court representation and presentation. Attorney should have experience in performing the functions of client intake, drafting complaints, preparing and responding to Federal Civil discovery demands, and preparing and responding to motions, especially civil summary judgment motions. Ability to be a self starter, work well independently as well as working in a team setting are necessaries.
Solid research and writing skills are a must. Trial experience a plus, however, an interest in gaining trial experience is imperative.
