What are the responsibilities and job description for the Legal Secretary position at Law Offices of Robert D. Ahearn?
We are hiring a part-time secretary for our personal injury and collections law firm. This position will support our two attorneys and the office through the performance of various secretarial and administrative duties. Hours are 9:00am-2:00pm, or 25 hours per week, Monday-Friday at our office in Quincy, Massachusetts. Experience in the personal injury or similar field is required. Pay will be determined by experience.
Responsibilities
- Organizing, filing, and maintaining client files
- Communicating with clients
- Gathering medical records and bills for personal injury clients
- Managing attorney calendars and contacts
- Scheduling client meetings and other legal proceedings
- Miscellaneous office management tasks
- Assist with projects and other duties as required
Qualifications:
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook)
- Strong typing and communication skills
- Exceptional attention to detail and proofreading skills
- Ability to support multiple attorneys in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities
- Ability to work independently, with minimum supervision while also contributing to a team
- Familiarity with law, legal procedures, and protocols
- EXPERIENCE: 3 - 5 years of office administration experience in a business or legal environment required
- EDUCATION: An Associate’s Degree or equivalent work experience required
