Attorney - Criminal Defense
Law Offices of Tim Powers
Denton, Texas
Post JD
The Law Offices of Tim Powers, the largest criminal defense firm in Denton County, is hiring for its Denton office. We are looking for a licensed attorney to join our talented, fast-paced team. Candidates must have passed the Texas bar exam and have a demonstrated interest in criminal defense. Law school clinic experience and fluency in Spanish is a plus.
As a firm dedicated to our clients’ criminal defense, we help people in periods of change and uncertainty in their lives. We handle all criminal cases and collateral issues - levels of Class B misdemeanors and above. As we continue to expand and grow into our 27th year, we have a fast-paced practice in two locations: Denton and McKinney, and primarily practice within Denton and Collin Counties. We attribute our success to superb client service and dedicated, loyal teamwork. We put a great deal of emphasis on both of those principles within our offices in order to offer an open and positive work environment. We want our team members to reach their own goals and we do everything we can to assist them in that.
We offer competitive salaries, commensurate with experience, 401(k), health insurance and other benefits.
Who should apply?
Applicants should expect to be client-focused; someone who enjoys learning something new every day, but also with the experience and confidence to walk into a courtroom and fight for their client; and someone who is motivated by their desire to do the highest quality work to serve their clients and represent our firm well. The person joining our team should be licensed in Texas, excellent written and verbal communication skills, great time-management and task management skills as well impeccable attention to detail.
The successful candidate will be self-reliant, asking questions but never making excuses. Most importantly, the person we hire will approach every part of this job with an open mind and have an eagerness both to learn the Law Office of Tim Powers style of doing things (which has made us the most successful criminal defense firm in the county), and a willingness to help us improve our processes as we continue to grow and develop as a firm.
