Key Responsibilities:
- Represent clients in landlord-tenant disputes, including eviction proceedings, non-payment, lease violations, and other related matters.
- Provide legal advice to clients regarding their rights and obligations under New York State landlord-tenant laws.
- Draft legal documents such as pleadings, motions, and settlement agreements.
- Handle all aspects of litigation from initial client intake through trial and resolution.
- Negotiate settlements and resolve disputes in a timely and effective manner.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of relevant laws and regulations.
Qualifications:
- Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
- Licensed to practice law in New York State.
- 6 months of experience in landlord-tenant litigation or related areas of law.
- Strong communication, negotiation, and advocacy skills.
- Ability to handle a high-volume caseload efficiently and effectively.
- Detail-oriented, organized, and proactive.
