Position Overview:
We are seeking Associate Attorneys with 1-7 years of experience in Civil Litigation defense to join our expanding team. The ideal candidates will have a strong background in asbestos litigation and a demonstrated ability to manage a high-volume caseload effectively. As a key member of our asbestos group, you will be responsible for providing legal counsel, representation, and strategic guidance to our clients in asbestos-related matters.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct legal research and analysis on Civil Litigation and Asbestos Litigation defense matters.
- Draft and review legal documents, including pleadings, motions, briefs, and discovery requests/responses.
- Represent clients in court proceedings, depositions, and settlement negotiations.
- Collaborate with partners, senior associates, and legal staff to develop case strategies and achieve favorable outcomes for clients.
- Assist with trial preparation and participate in trial proceedings as needed.
- Stay updated on relevant laws, regulations, and trends in asbestos litigation defense.
Qualifications:
- Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
- Admission to the Illinois State Bar.
- 1-5 years of experience practicing Civil litigation defense.
- Strong knowledge of asbestos-related laws, regulations, and litigation procedures.
- Excellent legal research, writing, and analytical skills.
- Demonstrated ability to manage a high-volume caseload and prioritize tasks effectively.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
