Senior Database (BI) Analyst

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced SeniorDatabase Analyst to join our team. The ideal person for this position has an exceptional eye for detail. They will work closely across various lines of business to understand the objectives of the organization and prioritize any requirements.

Responsibilities:

• Under general direction, design, implement and maintain complex databases with respect to JCL, access methods, access time, device allocation, validation checks, organization, protection and security, documentation, and statistical methods.
• You will play a pivotal role in analyzing, designing, and implementing solutions that optimize HR processes and improve decision-making for HRC.
• Lead the design and implementation of database solutions, including database schema design, normalization, denormalization, indexing strategies, and partitioning.
• Develop and optimize complex SQL queries, stored procedures, triggers, and functions to support application requirements, data analysis, and reporting needs.
• Perform database administration tasks such as installation, configuration, patching, backup and recovery, security management, user access control, and capacity planning.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including developers, system administrators, network engineers, and business analysts to support application development, deployment, and integration efforts. Share knowledge and best practices with junior team members through mentoring, training, and documentation.
• Includes maintenance of database dictionaries, overall monitoring of standards and procedures, and integration of systems through database design
• Competent to work at the highest level of all phases of database management.
• Maintain comprehensive documentation of database configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting guides.
• Generate reports and dashboards to communicate database performance, capacity utilization, and compliance status to stakeholders.

Skills:

• Proficiency in working with various database management systems such as MySQL,Oracle, Microsoft SQL Server, MongoDB, etc.
• Expertise in designing database schemas, creating entity-relationship diagrams (ERDs), and optimizing database structures for performance, scalability, and data integrity
• Strong SQL skills including writing complex queries, stored procedures, triggers, and functions..
• Proficiency in scripting languages like Python, PowerShell, or Shell scripting for automating routine tasks, database maintenance, monitoring, and deployment processes.
• Familiarity with cloud-based database services such as Amazon RDS, Azure SQL Database, Google Cloud SQL, or AWS DynamoDB.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills; Ability to communicate technical concepts effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Creative problem solving skills with the ability to analyze problems, identify root causes and develop innovative solutions.
• A keen eye for detailto ensure accuracy and reliability in data handling and system performance.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks, projects and priorities with excellent time management skills to help in meeting deadlines and prioritize tasks

Requirements:

• Minimum of 15 years experience in a matrixed, high-functioning environment workingas a Database Analyst, Senior Database Engineer, or similar; experience must be coupled with a Bachelor of Science in a related field; 10 years experience with a Master of Science in a related field
• Previous experience working in roles with strong written and verbal communications skills
• Active secret clearance required ·
