Job Summary
The role of Sales and Education Manager offers an exciting opportunity to manage sales, education, and training activities in a designated region for this dynamic brand within Sephora. This role will report to the Director of Sales and Education of the West and will need to currently reside in or relocate to Los Angeles, CA.
The Sales and Education Manager must have drive, determination and take responsibility for achieving positive brand reputation and revenue outcomes at retail, which are necessary qualities for successful job performance. Careful, critical analysis of new ideas or innovations is key. Core responsibilities for this role are to educate (in store, virtual and social content), collaborate, and strategize respective retail partners to drive sales and achieve/exceed comprehensive company objectives. These objectives include adherence to budgetary spending commitments and overall profitability. The role is inclusive of selling, education, training, and development to cultivate and maintain strong account relationships, motivate retailer engagement, and drive sales and productivity.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities
- Must align with direct manager and the company to meet company objectives, goals and KPI’s to meet end of year deliverables.
- Responsible for driving sales and executing strategies and initiatives within designated territory to ensure the achievement of sales plan and productivity at Sephora.
- Achieve and adhere to budgetary spend commitments: financial responsibility inclusive of travel and expense, freelance spend, and measurables to preserve profitability and secure bottom-line.
- Ability to assess inventory, per door, and report stock opportunities and/or adjustments with Sephora Leadership and Lawless team.
- Ensure LAWLESS gondolas, endcaps, towers, FOS, and BOTF areas are visually impeccable and in accordance with LAWLESS merchandising standards.
- Build and maintain strong strategic partnerships with internal and external business partners resulting in increased understanding of the business and achievement of successful sales results.
- Create an open and collaborative environment that influences the sales teams of Sephora and freelancers.
- Ability to schedule freelancers at Sephora according to Sephora Guidelines and meet the needs of the business.
- Cascades knowledge and best practices within the field organization.
- Responsible for recruiting, hiring, and developing freelance teams.
- Execute successful in store and virtual events within territory, achieving event goals.
- Evaluates retail trends to determine resource movements against sales.
- Meet all deadlines for requests including calendars, expense, and event recaps.
- Participate in regional meetings and conference calls to provide partnership and create solutions to address business needs.
- Maintain high knowledge of all products and ingredients to serve as an education liaison to the consumer/retailer.
- Ensure consistency of LAWLESS image and uphold gondola appearance to schematic standards.
- Maintain a cohesive monthly schedule that aligns with territory volume, call cycle, top volume door focus, as well as business needs. Implement into shared document by the 20th of the preceding month.
- Ability to drive a car, which is necessary to perform visits to all doors in the call cycle of the defined territory (Valid Driver’s License Required)
Be the brand ambassador in store and virtually, representing LAWLESS in a positive light and promoting the brand at every opportunity. Build a positive reputation and perpetuate a sense of goodwill around the brand.
Employee Development
- Create and maintain an atmosphere in store geared to achieving sales goals.
- Lead and ensure freelancers deliver consistent, excellent service in accordance with the LAWLESS BEAUTY standards.
- Collaborate with Education and Artistry Manager onboarding new staff and freelance and uphold a 30, 60, 90 development plans.
- Observe and provide collaborative, hands-on feedback to teams on makeup ability, service and selling skills.
- Ability to pivot or create immediate changes to meet the needs of the business and yield results.
- Ensure lucrative and competitive sell-through of new launch and hero products through in-store training in product knowledge and technique.
- Follow up on all core training and seasonal summit training with the freelance teams to yield results.
- Ability to develop talent for future roles.
- Implement measures to reduce and minimize staff turnover

Financial Accountability
- Send weekly recaps to the Director of Sales & Education on business and plan of action for the week ahead with a top volume door focus.
- Ensure the timely submission and accuracy of company credit card expenses, receipts, and company-owned asset forms.
- Responsibility in reporting and maintaining personal and training budget within fiscal year.
Accountable for achieving company objectives relating to retail sales plan, inventory management, and budget control and profitability.
Qualifications & Competencies
- Minimum of 5 years as Sephora Leadership Role or Minimum of 2 years Cosmetic Account Executive or Account Coordinator experience. (or equivalent position)
- Experience within Sephora or Experience working in a Sephora space required.
- Demonstrated ability to drive sales through fostering relationships and providing exceptional customer service.
- Ability to present in front of an audience and create educational content vis social.
- Ability to work collaboratively and build positive/effective business partnerships.
- Ability to interact with all levels of management in a fast paced, high growth, changing environment.
- Ability to work independently to prioritize and achieve results.
- Must have outstanding interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule to meet the needs of the business; will require weekends, evenings, and holidays.
- Effective planning, organizational and time management skills
- Proficient Microsoft Office Skills and Google Suite.
- Ability to lift, push and pull up to 50 lbs.
- Able to stand for up to 8 hours.
- Holds a valid driver's license.
- 90% of time or more spent in assigned market and in stores; 10% in Home Office
- Will be required to travel to all markets by ground (*by air, when needed).
