Position Overview:
We are seeking a motivated and reliable Mosquito Control Technician to join our team in Crofton, Maryland. In this role, you will play a key part in ensuring public health and comfort by providing effective mosquito control services to residential, commercial, and public areas. This position involves fieldwork, data collection, pesticide application, and customer service. Ideal candidates will be detail-oriented, proactive, and able to work independently.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform routine mosquito control activities, including pesticide application, larvicide treatments, and the use of specialized equipment.
- Inspect properties and public spaces for mosquito breeding grounds and areas of high mosquito activity.
- Maintain accurate records of service calls, applications, and inspections.
- Educate clients on mosquito control best practices and preventive measures.
- Adhere to all safety guidelines, environmental regulations, and company policies while handling chemicals and equipment.
- Conduct follow-up visits to ensure the effectiveness of treatments.
- Respond to customer inquiries and address concerns with professionalism and courtesy.
- Operate and maintain mosquito control vehicles and equipment.
- Monitor and report any issues regarding equipment, vehicles, or supplies.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure timely completion of work orders.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- Previous experience in pest control, landscaping, or a related field is a plus.
- Knowledge of mosquito biology, pest control methods, and pesticide application techniques is desirable.
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions and physical environments.
- Strong communication skills and customer service orientation.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
- Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Pesticide Applicator License (or the ability to obtain one within 30 days of hire) is a plus.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $16.00 - $18.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 – 50 per week
