Job Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Bookkeeper to join our team. The Bookkeeper will be mainly responsible for invoicing & accounts receivable. This role could also be asked to help our full time bookkeeper with any tasks they might need assistance with.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage Accounts Payable/Receivable: Process invoices, track expenses, and ensure timely payment of bills. Follow up on outstanding invoices.
- Payroll Processing: Assist with payroll processing and ensure timely and accurate employee payments.
- Maintain Financial Records: Keep detailed and organized financial records, ensuring data integrity and compliance with relevant regulations.
- Assist with Audits: Support internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation and explanations.
- Budget Monitoring: Assist in the preparation and monitoring of budgets, identifying variances and providing insights.
- Tax Preparation: Assist in preparing and filing tax returns, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
- Software Utilization: Utilize accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero) to manage financial data and perform bookkeeping tasks.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred; relevant certifications (e.g., Certified Bookkeeper, CPA) are a plus.
- Experience: Minimum of 1-2 years of bookkeeping or accounting experience.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in accounting software (QuickBooks, Xero) and MS Office Suite, Excel. Must be proficient in QuickBooks Online.
- Attention to Detail: Strong attention to detail and accuracy in financial record-keeping.
- Organizational Skills: Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks.
- Communication Skills: Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Integrity: High level of integrity and ability to handle confidential information.
Preferred Skills:
- Familiarity with industry-specific accounting procedures and regulations.
- Experience with financial forecasting and budgeting.
- Knowledge of tax preparation and compliance.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently.
