What are the responsibilities and job description for the Environment of Care Worker position at Lawndale Christian Health Center?
Position Summary
Reports to the Director of Purchasing and Facilities. Environment of Care (EOC) employees are responsible for maintaining the internal and external condition of Lawndale Christian Health Center (LCHC) properties in excellent condition. An EOC worker also plays a role in maintaining a safe and secure environment for patients and employees as a presence in their area of responsibility. An EOC worker will be called upon to support clinic operations within the skillsets described below.
The hourly rate is $17.20 - $19.35. Compensation will depend on a number of factors, including a candidate's qualifications, skill, competencies and years of experience.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities*
- Must be alert to the internal and external condition of all LCHC facilities and take responsibility for resolving an area of need, either individually if necessary skills are present or by working with team members to obtain the necessary resources from other avenues.
- Responsible for completing scheduled assignments including checklists and ticket/project/site specific projects as prescribed for each shift
- Perform housekeeping checklist according to procedure and meet or exceed sanitation standards prescribed by JCAHO. Corresponding checklist should be completed, signed and turned in at the end of each shift.
- Collaborate with Hope House volunteers as needed and support their efforts to provide a welcoming experience for our patients.
- Be prepared to assist clinic staff to respond to a security incident. Primary objective is to de-escalate the situation and contribute to establishing an environment where a resolution can be achieved without physical harm to property, patients or staff.
- Must be available for overtime in emergency situations
- Must be on site or available during snow emergencies
- Assist the Purchasing department with package delivery as time permits
- Respond to the requests and assignments from facility stakeholders in a timely and professional manner. Facility stakeholders include department and shift coordinators, site managers and other business unit managers. These stakeholders have the authority to provide feedback and request help with projects or operational efforts that require EOC skillsets. Requests deemed unreasonable can be directed to the shift or department coordinator for evaluation.

- Ability to withstand extremes in temperature
Required Knowledge, Experience, or Licensure/Registration
- High School diploma
- Janitorial experience preferred
