Title: Residential Manager
Location: Full-Time In-Person at Dr. Dennis Deer Community Justice Center
Hours: 8-hour shifts Monday-Friday
Status: Full-time Exempt
Reports to: Managing Director of Deer Housing Program
Salary: Commensurate with experience
The Residential Services Representative supports and collaborates in the daily operations of their assigned residents to create a safe, energetic, and positive environment for those most at risk while living in a residential center. This role supports the efforts of the day shift Residential Case Manager, monitoring the activities of residents to ensure safety of the building and residents in the overnight hours. This individual will contribute to the implementation of the participants' skills in independent daily living as needed. They will troubleshoot resident related issues, support service plans and, and the residential community.
Responsibilities
Residential Services
- Program Management
- Oversees the development and implementation of services for residents.
- Ensure compliance with state regulations and organizational policies
- Oversee the Intake process, including assessments and initial treatment planning
Leadership Supervision
- Provide regular supervision to direct reports. Offer support and feedback, conduct performance evaluations and use progressive discipline when necessary.
- Facilitate team meetings and staff development sessions.
- Ensure staff adherence to trauma-informed care principles and ethical standards.
- Oversee, collaborate, and support restorative justice services and ensure they are effectively integrated into the residents’ treatment plans.
- Participate in the hiring, training and evaluations of the Staff for their program.
Community and Resident Engagement:
- Foster a positive and inclusive community environment within the center.
- Address conflicts or issues that may need to be addressed between staff and residents
- Oversee community- building activities and events
- Identify new opportunities and new projects to assist in the growth and development of programs and services.
Administrative Duties:
- Manage the program budget and ensure efficient use of resources
- Maintain accurate records and documentation in accordance with regulatory and organizational standards.
- Prepare and submit regular reports on program outcomes and resident progress.
- Utilize data-driven insights and resident feedback to assess program effectiveness, identify areas for improvement, and drive continuous quality improvement initiatives.
- Regularly review the overall program data as well as data to track progress against program goals and expected outcomes to ensure maximum service delivery and to provide solutions to problems when necessary.
- Manages multiple projects simultaneously and may be asked to handle tasks outside of job description to meet broader goals of the Deer Community Justice Center.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in social work, psychology, counseling, or related comparable experience.
- 5 years of experience in management-level positions
- 5 years of personal or professional experience working with justice involved youth under 25
- Strong management skills, leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
- Experience in workforce development, case management, and residential programs as well as experience with those with justice involvement.
- 5 years of experience working with diverse populations and an understanding of the challenges faced by individuals with criminal justice involvement
- Valid Driver’s License, Insurance, and reliable transportation
- Strong de-escalation and negotiation skills
- High level of interpersonal skills, relationship-building, and ability to relate to young people in the criminal justice system under 25
- Passion for criminal justice reform, particularly reducing incarceration for young people through supportive community alternatives
- Flexible and willingness to serve on a team in a new pilot program
- Ability to create a culture of continuous quality improvement in service delivery and innovation
- Ability to work independently and be proactive

Work Environment/Travel
While performing the duties of this job, the employee works full-time in a residential setting. Some local, county, or state travel may be required.
Physical Demands
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger; reach with hands and arms; climb and descend stairs; balance; stoop, kneel, or crouch; communicate verbally. The role requires near visual acuity (approximately 20 in or less) to utilize a computer. The employee will be expected to respond appropriately to any verbal or physical conflicts among residents and will need to be trained in de-escalation and emergency protocols as a result.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a residential services position requiring the exercise of discretion and independent judgment and is required to work a full-time work week, as designated by the LCLC Employee Handbook, with periodic longer hours, including potential evenings, weekends, and odd hours. The Residential Manager may be called upon to cover 2nd or 3rd shifts who are out of the office or on vacation.
