What are the responsibilities and job description for the Dog Groomer position at Lawndale Veterinary Hospital?
Responsibilities:
- Provide grooming services to a variety of pets, including dogs, cats, and other small animals
- Perform bathing, brushing, and hair trimming according to client preferences and breed standards
- Trim nails, clean ears, and brush teeth as needed
- Assess the overall health of pets during grooming sessions and report any concerns to pet owners
- Maintain a clean and safe grooming area, including proper sanitation of equipment and tools
- Provide exceptional customer service by addressing client inquiries and ensuring their satisfaction with grooming services
- Assist with other tasks related to pet care, such as feeding and exercising animals
Requirements:
- Previous experience as a pet groomer or in a related field (e.g., veterinary technician, veterinary assistant)
- Strong skills in dog handling, animal restraint, and dog training techniques
- Knowledge of different breeds and their specific grooming requirements
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with pet owners
- Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment
- Flexibility to work weekends or evenings as needed
- Certification or training in pet grooming is preferred but not required
Note: Equine grooming experience is not required for this position.
