What are the responsibilities and job description for the Kennel Attendant position at Lawndale Veterinary Hospital?
Duties:
- Provide daily care for animals in the kennel, including feeding, watering, and cleaning
- Monitor the health and well-being of animals and report any concerns to the veterinary staff
- Assist with animal restraint and handling during examinations and procedures
- Administer medications as directed by the veterinary staff
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of kennel areas
- Assist with grooming tasks such as bathing and brushing animals
- Provide exercise and socialization for animals in the kennel
- Assist with customer service tasks such as answering phone calls and scheduling appointments
Skills:
- Experience working in a kennel or veterinary setting is preferred
- Ability to handle heavy lifting, as some animals may require assistance
- Strong animal handling skills, including knowledge of proper restraint techniques
- Knowledge of basic pet grooming techniques is a plus
- Excellent customer service skills to interact with pet owners and provide assistance
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively
- Strong attention to detail to ensure the health and safety of animals in the kennel
