Landscape Foreman

We are looking for a professional-minded individual who is passionate about what they do and are always looking at ways to improve. If you have strong leadership abilities, take pride in your completed work, and obtain good organizational skills while working well as part of a team, then we would like to speak with you about managing and working alongside our landscaping crews.

Reports to: Service Administrator

Summary:

The Landscape Foreman will typically manage a crew of 5 and is responsible for overseeing all on-site aspects of landscape installation, enhancement, and maintenance projects and insure they are completed efficiently while meeting or exceeding standards.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Responsible for the proper completion of landscaping related projects
  • Survey and provide perspective on designated projects and jobsites
  • Plan job in an effective manner to ensure optimum job efficiency and effectiveness
  • Operate tools and equipment used in the landscaping industry
  • Inspect, handle, and transport nursery stock
  • Prune trees, shrubs, and trim hedges
  • Occasional lawn maintenance
  • Perform required duties to clean and maintain landscape environments , shop and equipment
  • Assist with landscape construction when needed
  • Complete daily paperwork tracking job time and material costs
  • Wear appropriate personal protective equipment at all times
  • Enforce and work in accordance with all local health and safety laws and regulations
  • Comply with all company policies and regulations
  • Communicate with customers in a polite and courteous manner
  • Assist in continued employee training
  • Participate in snow removal operations, planning and readiness

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Completion of college, vocational, or technical training a plus
  • Minimum 1-2 years of experience
  • Plant knowledge and identification, specifically shrubs, and perennials
  • Proficient in operating required equipment in a safe and responsible manner
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and specifications
  • Ability to follow safe working procedures and implementation of standards
  • Excellent observation skills and a strong attention to detail
  • Good analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Effective communication skills (both verbal and written)
  • Ability to work both independently with little supervision, and as part of a team
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license
  • Provide and use smart phone with data plan

Work Conditions:

  • Ability to work with hand tools, power tools, small engine equipment, heavy equipment, and materials
  • Ability to lift a minimum of 50 lbs. repeatedly through an entire work shift
  • Ability to work in a fast paced environment
  • Excellent stamina is required
  • Work near heavy equipment and other vehicles on a regular basis
  • Work outdoors in various conditions including heat and humidity, rain, dust, noise, and cold
  • Flexible working hours including occasional weekend work (during Winter storm events)

Compensation and Benefits:

  • Full time year round
  • Very competitive salary
  • Performance-based bonuses (after 120 days)
  • Paid time off and paid holidays (after 120 days)
  • Additional pay for after hours snow removal

  • Simple IRA (after 120 days; company match up to 3%)
  • No scheduled weekends

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $20.00 - $24.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
