The Berkeley Lab is hiring an Electrical Engineering Technical Supervisor to plan, coordinate, and oversee technicians, facility, scientific, engineering, and administrative support. What You Will Do:
- Oversee technical, administrative, and leadership operations of the group.
- Lead collaborative efforts across project teams.
- Handle administrative tasks like budget planning, personnel management (hiring, training, performance reviews, salary, promotions, and discipline), and general employee relations.
- Receive objectives and determine resource allocation to meet goals.
- Analyze diverse issues, evaluating factors like current business trends.
- Serve on department, division, and Lab-wide committees.
- Plan strategically to meet scientific and safety goals while minimizing SBA funds.
- Supervise and manage technical support for electronics engineering.
- Use computers and software for word processing, spreadsheets, and database management.
What is Required:
- 3-4 years of experience in electronic technology, including supervisory and administrative roles.
- Ability to make decisions impacting schedules and results.
- In-depth knowledge of functional responsibilities.
- Experience managing personnel in a union environment.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to collaborate with staff at all levels at LBNL.
- Knowledge of preventive maintenance for accelerator and light source equipment.
- Expertise in hazardous material handling, waste disposal, quality assurance, and safety practices.
- Familiarity with LBNL, DOE, California, and other regulatory safety and environmental policies.
Desired Qualifications:
- 5 years of supervisory experience.
- Extensive background in electronic technology.
Salary:
The expected salary for this position is $116,000.00 - $142,000.00, which fits into the full salary of $103,560.00 - $174,756.00 annually depending upon the candidate’s skills, knowledge, and abilities, including education, certifications, and years of experience.
Notes:
- This is a full-time career appointment, exempt (monthly paid) from overtime pay.
