Weekend Crew Benefit
- Employees will work 12-hour shifts on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.
- They'll work a total of 36 hours across the three days.
- However, they will receive 4 additional hours for free as part of the benefit, meaning they are compensated as if they worked 40 hours for the weekend, even though they only physically worked 36 hours
Job Summary:
The Paint Shop Leadman in a manufacturing setting oversees painting operations, ensuring high-quality finishes, adherence to production schedules, and compliance with safety standards. This role involves supervising a team of painters and technicians, managing materials, and maintaining equipment to support efficient workflow.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise and Coordinate: Oversee daily painting operations, ensuring production goals and quality standards are met.
- Assign Tasks & Lead Team: Distribute work assignments, train employees, and monitor performance to ensure efficiency.
- Quality Control: Inspect surfaces before and after painting, ensuring proper application and adherence to specifications.
- Surface Preparation: Ensure materials are properly prepped, including sanding, priming, and masking, for optimal paint adhesion.
- Paint Mixing & Application: Oversee the correct preparation and application of paints, coatings, and finishes according to manufacturer guidelines.
- Equipment Maintenance: Maintain spray guns, booths, and other painting equipment, ensuring proper function and minimizing downtime.
- Inventory & Material Management: Monitor and order paint supplies, ensuring adequate stock levels for uninterrupted production.
- Safety Compliance: Enforce OSHA and company safety protocols, ensuring the proper use of PPE and handling of hazardous materials.
- Process Improvement: Identify and implement improvements to increase efficiency, reduce waste, and enhance finish quality.
- Documentation & Reporting: Maintain accurate records of completed work, material usage, and equipment maintenance logs.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Proven experience in industrial painting within a manufacturing environment.
- Strong leadership and supervisory skills.
- Knowledge of various painting techniques, materials, and equipment.
- Ability to read blueprints, work orders, and technical specifications.
- Understanding of safety regulations and hazardous material handling.
- Excellent problem-solving and organizational skills.
- Physical ability to stand, bend, and lift heavy materials for extended periods.
