What are the responsibilities and job description for the RN - PRN Med. Surg. position at Lawrence County Memorial Hospital?
We are seeking a PRN RN to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will be a compassionate and dedicated professional who provides the highest quality of care to our patients. You will be responsible for patient assessment, treatment and education, ensuring their well-being and facilitating their recovery.
Description of Duties:
- Monitor patient's condition and assess their needs to provide the best possible care and advice.
- Observe and interpret patient's symptoms and communicate them to physicians.
- Collaborate with physicians and nurses to devise individualized care plans for patients.
- Perform routine procedures (blood pressure measurements, administering injections, etc.) and fill in patients' charts.
- Adjust and administer patient's medication and provide treatments according to physician orders.
- Inspect the facilities and act to maintain excellent hygiene and safety (decontaminating equipment, sanitizing surfaces, preparing bests, etc.)
- Foster a supportive and compassionate environment to care for patients and their families.
- Expand knowledge and capabilities by attending educational opportunities and maintaining required competencies.
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a registered nurse.
- Excellent knowledge of nursing care methods and procedures.
- Excellent knowledge of emergency care.
- In-depth knowledge of health and safety guidelines and procedures (sanitation, decontamination, etc.) and willingness to follow them at all times.
- A team player with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Responsible and compassionate.
- Ability to work independently and with a team, maintaining efficient communication.
- Excellent bedside manner and oral communication skills.
Education:
- RN licensed in IL
- BLS, ACLS, PALS
- Basic Computer Skills
Schedule:
12 hour shifts as needed
Shift Differential
- Evening and night shifts are eligible for a shift differential.
- Additional weekend differential for eligible shifts!
Salary & Benefits:
- Salary: The estimated range is the budgeted amount for this position. Final offers are based on various factors, including skill set, experience, location, qualifications and other job-related reasons.
- Benefits: PRN employees are offered a benefit package that includes 401k and pto. Details on benefits are available upon request.
