Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Speech Language Pathologist to join our team to fill in as needed for illness and vacations. In this role, you will work with patients of all ages to assess, diagnose, and treat speech, language, communication and swallowing disorders. Your expertise will play a crucial role in helping our inpatient, outpatient and swing bed patients improve their overall quality of life. This position requires a strong understanding of speech therapy practices. Must be able to work with other therapy disciplines as a team collaboration for the best possible outcome for our patients.
Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough assessments of patients' speech, communication, swallowing and language abilities.
- Develop individualized treatment plans based on patient needs and goals.
- Implement therapeutic interventions to improve communication skills.
- Collaborate with all therapy professionals to support patient progress.
- Maintain accurate records of patient assessments, treatments, and progress.
- Provide early intervention services for children with speech and language delays.
- Educate patients and families about communication disorders and treatment options.
- Stay updated on the latest research and best practices in speech therapy.
Skills
- Proficient in speech therapy techniques and methodologies.
- Strong understanding of medical terminology related to speech-language pathology.
- Experience working in school settings or with pediatric populations is preferred.
- Ability to conduct patient assessments effectively.
- Knowledge of anatomy and physiology as it relates to speech production.
- Excellent patient care skills, demonstrating empathy and patience in all interactions.
