What are the responsibilities and job description for the Science Teacher position at Lawrence Family Development Charter School?
Lawrence Family Development Charter School is currently seeking highly skilled and motivated Science Teachers who are passionate about making a difference in students' lives. The Science Teacher will develop curriculum lessons, provide instruction to Upper School students, and participate in overall planning with other Science teachers and other teaching staff.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
-Plan science lessons and post to Schoology each week.
-Teach the science lessons as planned.
-Assess student progress.
-Analyze data to plan for individual student needs.
-Assist the STEM Coordinator in aligning the curriculum with the Next Generation Science Standards.
-Work with STEM Coordinator and other Science teachers on partnerships (both current and future)
-Participate in weekly Science Team Common Planning Time.
-Plan, prepare, and support students for Science Fair or other projects (depending on grade level).
-Participate in the Response to Intervention meetings of assigned grade level.
EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS:
-Master's degree preferred; Bachelor's degree required
-MA teacher certification
-SEI Endorsement from MA DESE (if not, must obtain within first year of employment)
-3 years' successful experience as classroom or Science teacher with middle school-age students
-Demonstrated interpersonal, planning, and organizational skills
-Demonstrated excellent communication skills (oral and written)
-Proven ability to communicate well with adults and children
-Experience teaching urban students of Hispanic backgrounds preferred

Salary Range: Teachers’ Scale – based on education and experience
