Server/Cashier

Job Summary
We are seeking a friendly and efficient Cashier to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service while processing transactions accurately and efficiently. This role requires strong communication skills and the ability to handle various tasks in a fast-paced retail environment, particularly within a grocery store setting.

Duties

• Greet customers warmly and provide assistance as needed to ensure a positive shopping experience.
• Process customer transactions accurately using the Point of Sale (POS) system.
• Handle cash, credit, and debit transactions while maintaining accuracy in the register.
• Upsell products and promotions to enhance customer satisfaction and increase sales.
• Maintain a clean and organized checkout area, including stocking shelves as necessary.
• Communicate effectively with customers, addressing any inquiries or concerns promptly.
• Demonstrate excellent phone etiquette when answering customer calls or inquiries.
• Perform basic math calculations to ensure accurate change is given and transactions are balanced.

Requirements

• Previous experience in a cashier or customer service role is preferred, especially in a grocery store environment.
• Bilingual skills are a plus, enhancing communication with diverse customers.
• Strong understanding of retail math principles to facilitate accurate transactions.
• Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with customers and team members.
• Basic math skills are essential for handling cash transactions accurately.
• Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
• Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings and weekends as needed.
